PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT – PRN – EL CAJON, CA
Victoria Post Acute Care is a busy skilled nursing facility with a stable and very experienced in-house therapy team.  We have an immediate opening for a PRN PTA to help us handle our growing caseload and provide excellent care to our patients. Weekend hours will apply as needed. We see a diverse orthopedic and neurological adult patient population with the goal of regaining their function and independence and returning to home.

Duties: 
  • Utilizes evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions.
  • Provides rehabilitative, skilled and medically necessary treatment intervention to patients with physical functioning disorders per regulatory and clinical practice requirements under the supervision and direction of a Physical Therapist.
  • Administers various procedures as part of the rehabilitation plan including but not limited to manual techniques; ambulation; therapeutic exercises; modalities; use of supportive and assistive devices; etc. Under the supervision and direction of a Physical Therapist.
  • Assesses patient’s progress and communicates with supervising Physical Therapist to adjust treatments accordingly in the clinical record per regulatory and clinical practice requirements.
  • Provides consultation and counseling to patients, as well as families, caregivers and other service providers related to the physical disorders.
  • Provides input to supervisor for discharge summary of services provided per regulatory and clinical requirements.
  • Documents all regulatory and clinically required information in the electronic documentation system and maintains patient records according to company policy.
Qualifications: 
Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant 
Prior experience in a skilled nursing setting is preferred but new grads welcome!

As a Respiratory Therapist you will play a crucial role in the assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients with pulmonary disorders. Your expertise will ensure the highest standard of care for patients in a skilled nursing setting, contributing to their recovery and quality of life. You will help with the following:

  • Develop and implement individualized care plans focusing on pulmonary rehabilitation, considering the specific needs of each patient.
  • Perform therapeutic procedures such as chest physiotherapy, postural drainage, and aerosolized medication administration to improve lung function and patient well-being.
  • Educate patients and their families on lung health, breathing exercises, and strategies to improve daily functioning.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, and physical therapists to provide holistic care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting all treatment plans, interventions, and patient progress.
  • Stay current with the latest respiratory therapy techniques and technologies, integrating them into patient care as appropriate.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance and operation of all respiratory therapy equipment.
