What You’ll Do

As an Occupational Therapist, you’ll play an essential role in helping patients maximize independence and quality of life by:

  • Evaluating patients with cognitive, neurological, orthopedic, and ADL impairments
  • Developing individualized, evidence-based treatment plans
  • Providing skilled occupational therapy interventions including:
    • ADL retraining
    • Therapeutic exercise
    • Therapeutic activities
    • Functional mobility training
    • Adaptive equipment instruction
  • Monitoring patient progress and modifying treatment plans to maximize outcomes
  • Collaborating closely with physicians, nursing, families, caregivers, and the interdisciplinary rehab team
  • Educating patients and caregivers for successful transitions home
  • Completing timely and accurate clinical documentation

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program
  • Current Occupational Therapist license in Arizona (or ability to obtain)
  • New graduates and experienced therapists encouraged to apply

Essential Job Duties

  • Evaluate patients with cognitive, physical, and ADL deficits and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based interventions
  • Provide skilled occupational therapy services in accordance with physician orders and regulatory requirements
  • Implement therapeutic exercises, activities, ADL retraining, adaptive equipment training, and other treatment interventions
  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, families, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Educate patients, caregivers, and families regarding treatment plans and functional outcomes
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation
  • Prepare comprehensive discharge recommendations and summaries
